AUTHOR INFO. Liezl A. Buenaventura holds
a certificate in U.P. Fine Arts: Studio Arts-Painting, and is
currently finishing a BFA degree in Fine Arts: Visual Communication-
Advertising. She has been drawing
and writing for as long as she can remember, and the dozens of
images found within these galleries are only the tip of the iceberg.
She is Filipino-Chinese and resides in Metro Manila, Philippines
where she works as a freelance digital artist and designer.
She also owns the domain www.trinitycross.net,
which houses all her professional/commercial work.
An avid Tolkien fan, she prefers to draw the Silmarillion from
mind rather than (the non-existent) movie, and many of her fantasy
paintings reflect this. |
Her artistic inspirations include Milo Manara, Linda Bergkvist, Robert
Chang, Frank Quitely, Alex Ross, Gary Frank, and the Renaissance period
in general. She hates all things abstract and is thoroughly entrenched
in the world of representational art.
Her areas of expertise include digital paintings, watercolor, acryllics,
and pen and ink, though she is also proficient in oil, charcoal, and
color pencils. When given free reign, her tastes tend to lean more toward
fantasy and science fiction than the modern, though on occassion she
has been known to paint the odd Wanton Woman Reclining On Couch.
 |
Her humor is eclectic and is seen most often in
her charicatures of various book and game characters rather than
in her Long Drawings. She is currently employed as one of the
colorists of the Otaku Mangazine (a full-color anthology of four
manga series), that runs quarterly. She is credited under the
Red Threads art circle. Samples of her color work can be found
in the Commission / Work Gallery of this
website.
If you wish to buy prints of any of her work, or commission her
to make new paintings, email
