CURRENT RULES AND REGULATIONS

SANGKIL 2005 Mission/Vision: To promote arnis as an indigenous martial art, an effective form of self-defense, a sport, and as a means of keeping fit and healthy.

Club Fees: Php100.00 per member per month

*All fees are to be collected by either the President or the Treasurer during the FIRST MONDAY of every month.

*NOTE: The above Club Fees do not apply to STEP members.


CLASSROOM PROTOCOLS:

1) Time Policies -Be on time. If you arrive before the designated Instructor arrives, start warming up and exercising immediately.

-Lates/Absences. Inform the teacher that you may be late or will be absent as early as possible. Unexcused lates/absences will incur penalties.


2) Courtesies -Always salute instructors, seniors, and your batchmates. There is no excuse for rudeness, regardless of whether or not you are in the dojo.

-Salute when you enter and leave the dojo, regardless of whether or not it is occupied.

-Respect your weapons; do not mishandle your sticks. Students caught mishandling their weapons will be penalized.

-Maintain a respectful demeanor at all time. We do not wear belts unless performing for special events; conduct yourself politely towards everyone. You never know when you're talking to a senior/instructor/master.

(*Handshake: This will be taught to applicants during their Induction into the club. DO NOT do this unless you are a legitimate member.)


3) Safety -Be safety-conscious at ALL TIMES.

-Members/Seniors/Instructors caught deliberately injuring their partners will be sanctioned.

4) Room Cleanliness -At the beginning and end of each session, EVERYONE helps clean the dojo.
*Floor must be swept.
*Trash must be emptied.
*Sticks, armor, and helmets must be put in their appointed place.
*Personal weapons should not be left in the room.

PENALTIES:

1) Dropped stick - 10 push-ups


2) Disrespecting an Instructor - 20 push-ups
-depending on the gravity of the situation, a written request delivered to the Officers and Adviser may be used to call upon more severe punishment. If approved, the punishment agreed upon by the adviser and officers will be carried out without delay.


3) Deliberately Inflicting Injury
-1st Offense: 2 Weeks Suspension from Club
-2nd Offense: 1 Month Suspension from Club
-3rd Offense: Expulsion

(When metting out a complaint of this nature, the procedure is as follows: 1) Submit a written complaint to any Officer and/or the Adviser. 2) An investigation will be held to determine the truth of the allegation. 3) If found guilty, the penalty will be served without further delay.)

4) Sexual Harassment
-1st Offense: 2 Weeks Suspension from Club
-2nd Offense: 1 Month Suspension from Club
-3rd Offense: Expulsion

(When metting out a complaint of this nature, the procedure is as follows: 1) Submit a written complaint to any Officer and/or the Adviser. 2) An investigation will be held to determine the truth of the allegation. 3) If found guilty, the penalty will be served without further delay.)
