brief history
The UP club was once comprised of only a handful of Lightning/LESKAS students. It was began in 1991 by the late Master Elmer Ybanez who founded LESKAS and taught it to a handful of students. It was only in 2001 that the seniors decided to open the club to current UP students, and thus Sangkil Karasak was born. The UP LSAI club was legitimized with the University of the Philippines Office of Student Affairs Committee in June of 2002.

(LESKAS is a system that stems from LSAI. (Master Elmer Ybanez, a student of Mang Ben, legitimized this system in 1996)

The UP LSAI/LESKAS chapter is headed by Master Nathan Dominguez and Master Felipe Jocano.

Eligible Students:
1) Students (both undergrad and graduate) of the University of the Philippines
2) Alumni of the University of the Philippines
3) Students of other Universities (please contact an officer/member for details)
4) Working Professionals (please see Special Section: STEP)

NOTE: We also welcome personal study visits and/or inter-club sharing sessions. Any and all interested visitors may contact the webmaster for details regarding this.
