expect great quality shots. I make the best with what I've got. :) (Incidentally, I highly recommend the Zire 72 because it's got every function a random yuppie could ever want. The video cam isn't great, but it's still pretty effective for taking quick vids of events and slow-moving people.)
For her birthday, my mother asked us to dinner at the Fort. Little did we know that she wanted to eat at this newly-opened Indian place with very strange food... Pictured above are various skewered bits of human remains, or more commonly known as the kebab sampler.
And this-- the clincher-- was what they claimed to be spinach. Spinach my ASS. This stuff was NASTY. :P
I can't cook to save my life, but I can bake pretty mean desserts. The first pic is of what I like to call Death by Chocolate. Instead of using that chocolate powder crap you buy from groceries, I used real cacao tablets in the batter. The result? A very mean fudge brownie. (Served with icecream, chocolate syrup, and my mum's good plates.)
Christmas brownies that I *didn't* bake. Still pretty damned good.
Furries I got from a bazaar. (The pink and yellow rabbits have slinkies for mid-sections, and their feet bounce up and down when you jiggle them.) I got them each for 20 pesos (around half a dollar)-- what a bargain!
My Lord of the Rings toys, Aragorn and Arwen. (The little thing sitting in front of Arwen is Injured Frodo (tm); he came free with the Deluxe Horse and Rider Arwen set). (Interesting note: If you press a button of Arwen's back, the evenstar on her bosom lights up.)
I gravitate to Disney cartoons like flies to shit. Silly sentimentalism at its finest.
Lantern Parade pics of 2003. I wasn't required to join Fine Arts that year, so I got my arnis group (UP Sangkil Karasak) to join in full Lord of the Rings regalia. We had a full fellowship, ringwraiths, helm's deep elves, and all three of the female characters in. (Arwen, Galadriel, Eowyn.)
I, of course, was Mr-Fancy-Pants-Legolas himself. :D We choreographed a great fight, had Gandalf set off fireworks, and ended up winning the Judge's Choice award that year. :D Not bad for a group that wasn't even a College. ;)
Lantern Parade pics of 2002. Fine Arts was in an uproar because we'd finally gotten a theme we liked (Superheroes), and the whole thing turned into a giant Costume Party.
(My costume was hard to find parts for, but everything eventually fell into place the night before. Typical.)
My best friend and his girlfriend (read: master). Lol. They've been together for nearly as long as Ben and I have! :D
Showing Ben how much I love Goobers Peanutbutter. (This is the grape jelly-swirled variety, not the predictable chocolate. Strawberry-and-peanutbutter-swirled is good, too, but nothing beats grape. NOTHING.
Stitch when he was just a puppy. Now he is big and very annoying; mum has threatened to disown him more than once. (Moral Lesson: Never name your dog after Evil Powerful Psycho Alien from Disney Cartoon.)
During Christmas a few years ago, Ben and I decided to have professional photos done to give to our respective parents.
They came out horrible-- we looked liked sticks were shoved into our butts and we smiled like we had Really Bad toothaches.
We took these photos in my living room to (over) compensate. :) |
