There are already far too many spreaders of doom and disaster out there, and if I make at least one person smile through my work, then I will consider it a job well done. The title and catch-phrase of this site comes from one of the poems I wrote for Ben, my better half, and can be accessed in the Word Play section of this site. It is a poem about never giving up, seeing the world through new eyes, and flying when you think you ought to fall. Everything found on this site was designed, drawn, and written by myself. The main image was a repainted version of my digital painting, "New Year's in China Town". (I preserved its background and painted a sexier girl for the site's mascot, and the result is what you see on the current layout.) Most of the photographs (like the one featured on the upper left corner) were taken by myself, but some featured in the Visual Journey section were taken from various clipart sites. All material is copyrighted to Liezl A. Buenaventura, and none of it may be taken without my explicit permission. This site went through many changes in the past few years-- morphing from an art and prose gallery to a weblog/camsite-- before it finally became what you see now: a combination of both, with an extra helping of originality. All the sections found within are outlets for my various creatives urges. Each piece is painted with passion, each word is written with emotion; if you seek professionalism, go elsewhere. Within these pages lies only heart, and as with everything else in life, it is in constant change. So look around, open your mind, and take a peek into my life. |
